Horsemanship Clinic Information
From The Ground Up
This clinic has been designed to meet the needs of a large percentage of the horse owning population. Whether the participant has a colt they would like to start or an experienced horse they have issues with, the knowledge, philosophies and skills provided to the participant will work to improve performance of any horse at any level.
Clinic Topics
- Understanding herd language
- Leadership Respect & Attention
- Clear Communication (body & verbal)
- Stick-to-it-ness
- Focus for Success
- Identifying & solving problems
- Control of body parts
- Obtaining a willing partner
- Single rein cue setting
- Softening
- Desensitizing at the same time keeping the horse sensitive
- Habituation
- Liberty and Intent
- Equipment use that the horse understands
- Round Pen philosophies
- Trailer loading on cue from outside the trailer
Time permitting we will learn a few tricks you can teach your horse using the knowledge provided at this clinic.
You will leave this clinic with knowledge that will change the way you interact with any and all horses you handle.
The philosophy of Battle Ridge Ranch is simple.
The clearer you communicate in a consistent manner the stronger the result. By being firm, fair and friendly as you help the horse advance through his learning curve, sticking with the horse through scared and confused segments (defined as stick-to-itness), you don't let him fail. Rather you create a method to ensure his success, however small or large the task at hand seems to be.
In conclusion:
If you do not have a target or goal...how can you ever expect to hit it or achieve it.
