Elliott Stone and Freestyle Currently Lead the 2005 Jump Canada Series

With only five stops left in the 2005 Jump Canada Series, Elliott Stone of Midland, ON, is leading the national series as it heads into the final stop of the season, Toronto’s Royal Horse Show.

Stone of Midland, ON, and Freestyle, an 11-year-old Belgian Warmblood mare owned by Michael Stone, are currently in the lead with 190 points gained so far this season.  Posting consistent placings all season long, the pair were recently third in the $50,000 World Cup Qualifier at the CSI-W Collingwood Festival on August 14 to contribute to their overall points total.

Not far behind are Ian Millar and Promise Me, an 11-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding owned by The Baker’s Dozen.  With 186 points following the pair’s victory in the $100,000 World Cup Qualifier at the CSI-W Caledon Summer Festival on August 7, Millar is in a strong second position.

Sitting in third position is Chris Pratt of Belltown, ON, and Rivendell, a 10-year-old Westphalian gelding owned by Lothlorien Farms.  The pair has accumulated 168.15 points so far this season, adding to their total most recently by taking top honours in the $50,000 World Cup Qualifier at the CSI-W Collingwood Festival to gain 50 points.

The Jump Canada Series has proven successful in providing a national jumper circuit with high standards of competition across the country.  The current standings are calculated using the best six results plus the final event of the series, the CN World Cup Qualifier Grand Prix to be held November 9, 2005, at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair Horse Show in Toronto, ON.

The prestigious Jump Canada trophy, generously donated by Barbara Anderson of Alberta, is presented to the Series champion in a special ceremony at the Royal Horse Show.

For the past three consecutive years, 2002, 2003 and 2004, Ainsley Vince and Catch 22 have been crowned the Jump Canada Series Champions.  For a complete list of standings, please visit www.jumpcanada.ca.
