Shannon Dueck and Korona 2nd in Grand Prix Freestyle at Raleigh CDI 3*

Canada’s Shannon Dueck rode to a second place finish in the Grand Prix Freestyle at the Raleigh CDI 3* held June 3-5, 2005 in Raleigh, North Carolina.

With her longtime partner Korona, a 17hh Dutch Warmblood gelding, Dueck was awarded a score of 71.28% from the panel of five international judges that included Canadian judge Joan Macartney (FEI I).

In the previous day’s competition, Dueck and Korona rode to a fifth place finish (64.500%) in the field of 17 competitors.

Dueck first rose to international prominence with Korona in 1999 when they won Individual Silver at the Pan American Games held in Winnipeg, Manitoba. They then went on to win numerous CDI competitions at the Grand Prix leve before being the highest placed Canadians at the 2002 World Equestrian Games in Spain. The pair have also been previous Canadian League World Cup champions and have represented Canada at the World Cup Finals.
