US Dressage League Finals Set to Begin

The US League Finals to select riders for the FEI Dressage World Cup Final in Las Vegas (USA) will take place in Burbank, California (USA) from 31 March to 3 April 2005.

This event is one of the premier dressage events on the US West Coast. Olympians Debbie McDonald, Guenter Seidel, Steffen Peters, and Robert Dover will be competing. The Burbank CDI-W

The US Freestyle Champion will be named at the Burbank CDI-W. In addition to earning this prestigious title, at least the top two riders will earn berths to represent the United States at the FEI World Cup Final next month in Las Vegas.

This is a great opportunity to see not only many of America's top dressage riders and horses, but to spot up-and-coming stars. A full range of classes from training level through grand prix are held during the four day extravaganza. Admission is free for the regular classes that run in multiple rings throughout each day.

Scheduled to compete are: Debbie McDonald (Brentina), Guenter Seidel (Aragon, Nikolaus 7) Leslie Morse (Kingston, Tip Top 692) and Steffen Peters (Floriano).

The riders for the FEI World Cup Dressage Final to be held in Las Vegas (USA) from 20 to 24 April will be selected as follows:

8 riders from the Western European League
1 rider from the Central European League
1 rider from the Canadian League (Leslie Reid)
2 riders from the USA League
1 rider from the South America or Asia
Defending Champion Anky van Grunsven (on completion of two qualifiers)
4 Wild cards will be allocated by the FEI Dressage Committee.
(Australia will not be represented this year)
