4 Canadian Riders Place in Top Ten at Devon

Jackie Brooks & Gran Gesto

4 Canadian riders achieved top ten placings in the Intermediare I at today's Dressage at Devon CDI. Jacqueline Brooks & Gran Gesto were the highest placing Canadians, scoring 67.667% to put them in 3rd position, less than .3% behind the winner.

The class was won by the narrowest of margins by Jan Brons & Josien, Thursday's winner in the Prix St. Georges. The Dutch mare scored 67.833%, beating out 2nd place George Williams and Rocher in the collective marks.

Gran Gesto, a 16.2hh 7-year-old Oldenburg gelding owned by Brinc Ltd & A. Welch, has been improving consistently over the 2001 competitive season in his first year at the Advanced level. With Brooks, Gran Gesto won the Intermediare Freestyle at this year's inaugural Coupe des Ameriques....and hopes are high that the pair will show a repeat performance in tomorrows freestyle at Dressage at Devon.
