Gabriella Salick Wins Open Welcome at Tournament of Champions

2002 Tournament of Champions

Top show jumpers from across Canada and the U.S.A. plus individual riders from France, Britain and South America started competition Thursday at the fifth annual Tournament of Champions.

Thursday’s competition was considered a warm up for the major events which start Friday with the first phase of the $75,000 Canada Cup presented by LG Electronics. The final phase takes place Sunday at 2:00pm with the champion driving away with in a 2003 Mercedes-Benz CLK 320 convertible.

Saturday’s events are dedicated to fundraising for the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada, featuring the Superdog/Horse Relay followed by the celebrity Audi Ride N Drive. The emotional high point of the evening will be the granting of a wish to a 15-year-old Ontario teen who has dreamed of owning her own horse.
