Lancet Sold to Great Britain's Emma Hindle

Lancet, the Hanoverian stallion ridden by Dutch rider Imke Schellekens-Bartels at the 2004 Olympic Games, has been sold to British Olympic dressage rider Emma Hindle.

Even before the Olympic Games in Athens were underway, there was already interest in the stallion.  Schellekens-Bartels had already achieved three victories in international competition before placing 11th in Athens.  Ulrich Kasselmann is reported to be among the interested parties before the eventual sale to Hindle.

Lancet, who is by Wenzel I (vm. Shogun xx), will join Hindle's Olympic partner Wie Weltmeier at her Brookhouse Stud in Germany.

Previous owner Jacques Marée expressed mixed feelings about the sale. "The commercial side weighs heavily. Lancet is not a stallion like Jazz who produces a large income every year. We had to make this difficult decision, even though it is hard for Imke (Schellekens-Bartels).
