Hawley Bennett

Birthplace: Langley, British Columbia
Birthdate: May 6, 1977
Hometown: Langley, British Columbia

Hawley Bennett grew up on a hobby farm and got her first pony, Thunder, when she was seven years old. After being involved with the 4-H Horse Club, Hawley joined the Grove and Langley Pony Club, achieving her B2 level.

Her current horse is Livingstone, a thoroughbred gelding purchased as a four-year-old in 1994. Otherwise known as ‘Hank’, Livingstone was bred by Dr. Anderson, who lived just down the road from Hawley. At the age of 21, Hawley Bennett was named to the 1998 Canadian Eventing Team Long List based on her outstanding results at the North American Young Riders’ Championship where she finished fourth individually.

In 2002, Hawley finished 14th at the CCI*** Fair Hill International where she was the only rider to post a clear stadium round. The following year, Hawley and Livingstonecompleted the prestigious CCI**** Rolex Kentucky with a clear cross-country performance. One of Hawley’s dreams came true in the fall of 2003 when she represented Canada at the 2003 Pan American Eventing Championships and was a member of the Silver Medal Team.

Hawley credits her groom, Stacey Thorson, the never-ending support of her mother, Gerry, and her coach, Pam Arthur, for her success. Hawley currently trains in Corona, California.
