Ashley began riding at age 13, receiving instruction from Canadian and West German riding schools.  Riding is not her only interest however, as she worked at one point with the Rob Henry Fashion Agency and also developed a Carousel line of clothing and accessories for riders.

One of Canada's most successful dressage riders, Ashley got her start training with Christilot Boylen, entering the grand prix ring on Orsk.  In the early 1980's she trained in Germany with Willi Schuitheis and, during that year, participated in the selection trials for the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.

Since that time, Ashley has had great success both at home, winning the 1989 Canadian Grand Prix Championship, and around the world as a member of the bronze medal Canadian team at the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, Korea, and the 1991 Pan American Games in Havana, Cuba, where she helped the team win the gold medal, winning the individual silver.

In 2002, Ashley was a member of the Canadian Equestrian Team at the World Equestrian Games in Jerez, Spain.   In 2003, Ashley (aboard Gambol) helped Canada win Team Silver at the Pan American Games in the Dominican Republic.

Ashley and her husband, Rusty, own Riverdale Equestrian Centre in New York City, New York. They have two children, Emma and Harry.
