Strasser & Foto Tyme Seventh in First Round at 2004 World Championships for Young Horses

Foto TymeEvi Strasser and her Westphalian gelding Foto Tyme are currently sitting in seventh position after the first round of qualifying competition at the 2004 World Championships for Young Horses being held July 9-11, 2004 in Verden, Germany.

Competing in the 5-year-old division against 42 competitors from 14 nations, Strasser rode a solid test and were awarded a score of 8.6 from the judging panel comprising of Dr. Dietrich Plewa (GER), Else Mouw (NED) and Leif Törnblad (DEN). Foto Tyme is by the well-known stallion Florestan I x Delphi. The winner of the qualifying class was Hans Peter Minderhoud (NED) with Florencio 2 (Florestan I x Weltmeyer) with an incredible score of 9.66.

Strasser now moves to the Championship Final class taking place on Sunday July 10th.

Gillian Duke with Florianus 2 represented Canada in the 6-year-old division. This again was a very competitive class boasting 37 competitors in front of a judging panel consisting of Dr. Wojciech Markowski (POL), Klaus Ridder (GER) and Hilda Gurney (USA). The Westphalian gelding (Florestan I x Damenstolz) finished with 6.98, slotting them into 27th position. This is the first time Duke has represented Canada at an international competition since graduating from the Young Rider ranks in 2000.
