Guenter Seidel & George Williams to Represent USA at Dressage World Cup

McDonald at 2002 WEG
American riders Guenter Seidel and George Williams will be representing USA at the upcoming World Cup to be held in Sweden March 2003.

Guenter Seidel won the U.S. League Finals for the Dressage World Cup aboard Nikolaus. Riding to "Hernando's Hideaway," the pair scored 77.65% for a mistake-free kur.

Accompanying Seidel will be teammate George Williams and Rocher. Williams has been experiencing tremendous success with the elegant black mare during the past year including wins at Dressage at Devon and Florida. Riding to music by Madonna, Rocher scored 73.9% for third place. The pair won the Grand Prix the previous evening with a score of 70.64%.

Sue Blinks & WEG mount Flim Flam came second with 76.7%, but since Blinks did not declare for the World Cup this year, Williams gets the nod for Sweden.

Salzgeber at 2002 WEG
Seidel and Williams will be joing Debbie McDonald and Brentina in Sweden. McDonald won the wild card spot for the World Cup Finals and therefor did not have to compete at the US League Finals.

This year's World Cup Finals should prove to be very interesting as the USA is fielding an extremely strong contingent with 3 riders competing.

Canada's Shannon Dueck will also be in Sweden, rounding out the North American contingent. They will be facing Germany's powerhouse and favourite Ulla Salzgeber who continues to be on fire this winter show season, winning the CDI Bremen recently with scores of 73.32% & 79.76%.
