Source :  USA Equestrian, Inc.

Richard Jeffery of Dorsett, UK, has been selected as the recipient of the Mr. & Mrs. William C. Cox Memorial Trophy as the 2002 Show Jumping Course Designer of the Year for the fifth time. He also received this award in 1989, 1990, 1994 and 1999.

Courses designed by Jeffery included courses at the Kentucky Spring Classic (Lexington, KY), Bayer/USET Festival of Champions (Gladstone, NJ) and the Pennsylvania National (Harrisburg, PA).

The winner of the Mr. & Mrs. William C. Cox Memorial Trophy is determined annually by eligible U.S. Competitors on the Grand Prix Jumping Circuit. Donated in 1958 by the Cox family, the award memorializes Mr. and Mrs. William C. Cox who were ardent supporters of grand prix jumping in the United States.

The presentation of the award will be made at the Pegasus Awards Dinner to be held January 17, during the USA Equestrian Annual Meeting in Lexington, KY. For information on attending the awards dinner contact Deborah Martin at 859-225-6961.
