England Scores Top Dressage Horse
Nector van het Carelshof, recently ridden at the 2002 World Equestrian Games by Ingrid Klimke, has been sold to Great Britain's Fiona Bigwood.
The 12-year old Belgian warmblood gelding (by Randel Z and Laika by Lombard) is owned by Australian Christine Doan who actually used to ride the horse herself before giving the ride to Ingrid Klimke.
Nector will join Bigwood's other 2 Grand Prix horses, Afrikka & Habana, at her stables in Germany where she is coached by Dieter Laugks. It is rumoured that the purchase of the horse was more than 500,000€.
This news comes hot on the heels of another British acquisition. England's Dr. Wilfried Bechtolsheimer recently purchased Don Davidoff, the 2002 FEI 5-Yr-Old Young Horse World Champion. The young horse will be the future top mount of Dr. Bechtolsheimer's daughter Laura who competes at the Young Rider level.
