England Scores Top Dressage Horse

Nector van het Carelshof, recently ridden at the 2002 World Equestrian Games by Ingrid Klimke, has been sold to Great Britain's Fiona Bigwood.

The 12-year old Belgian warmblood gelding (by Randel Z and Laika by Lombard) is owned by Australian Christine Doan who actually used to ride the horse herself before giving the ride to Ingrid Klimke.

Nector will join Bigwood's other 2 Grand Prix horses, Afrikka & Habana, at her stables in Germany where she is coached by Dieter Laugks. It is rumoured that the purchase of the horse was more than 500,000.

This news comes hot on the heels of another British acquisition. England's Dr. Wilfried Bechtolsheimer recently purchased Don Davidoff, the 2002 FEI 5-Yr-Old Young Horse World Champion. The young horse will be the future top mount of Dr. Bechtolsheimer's daughter Laura who competes at the Young Rider level.
