Equestrian / Equine Canada Searches for Interim CEO
Following the sudden departure of previous CEO Eva Havaris, EC is now on the search for an interim CEO.
The job description, posted on the Sport Information Research Centre (SIRC) website on November 23rd, states that it is a 6-12 month contract position with the opportunity for a full time, salaried offer for employment upon successful completion of the contracted Interim placement.
It goes on to state that "experience and knowledge in the operations and intricacies of all aspects of the equestrian industry is essential, including a strong understanding of equestrian disciplines, and the equestrian economy."
The closing date for applications is December 13, 2017.
Previous CEO Havaris left the position in late September after 3 tumultuous years with the organization, citing at the time "it is an opportune time for me to move on to my next challenge and allow new leadership to put in place the actions and plans that were finalized over the last few months". It is unclear the full circumstances surrounding Havaris' departure, and the "resignation settlement" she received from EC, as approved by the Board of Directors in place at that time. EC Board member Dominique Chagnon is noted as the only Director against the motion.
