Canada's New ParaEquestrian Chef d'Equipe Says Rio Team Selected

In an article featured on Paralympic.org , Canada's new ParaEquestrian Chef d'Equipe talks about his new role leading up to the 2016 Rio Paralympics.

David Hunter comes to Canada following a very successful 13 years in England with Team GBR which saw their riders excel at Athens 2004, Beijing 2008 and of course the London 2012 Paralympic Games not to mention winning four world and five European championships.

As Chef d'equipe, Hunter is responsible for ensuring the best environment possible for his athletes to achieve top performances. This included managing all of the logisitical requirements as well as the coaching and support teams.

“It’s about getting the riders ready for selection, and then getting them to Rio and trotting down the centre line at the right time, as best prepared as possible, and then to be as successful as possible,” Hunter said to Paralympic.org.

Hunter seems to be excited about the Rio Games this year, saying that a team of four has been selected which includes Lauren Barwick, a previous Paralympic champion, and Ashley Gowanlock who rode at the 2012 London Olympics and 2014 World Equestrian Games.
