Spain's WEG Team Bronze Medal Dressage Rider Rafael Soto To Give First Clinic in the USA

Rafael Soto, rider at The World Equestrian Games and Director of riders at the Royal School of Equestrian Art in Jerez, Spain will be coming to the United States for the first time to give a special symposium. Soto will lead a symposium for all levels of horses from training through Grand Prix.

Rafael Soto is the Director for the riders at the Royal School of Andalusian Equestrian Art in Jerez, Spain, and is also one of the most respected trainers and riders on the international dressage stage. As a member of the Spanish Dressage Team, he became the key member of the team at the recent 2002 World Equestrin Games with his phenomenal ride to guarantee the Spanish a Bronze Medal. His wonderful ride of 72.80% in the Individual Grand Prix placed him 8th in the World.

Rafael not only placed 8th in the World at WEG, he placed 5th at Aachen (One of Europe’s most prestigious competitions) in both 2001 and 2002. The 2000 Spanish Olympic Team was honored to have Rafael as one of their riders.

The training at the Royal School is very interesting, for while it draws on the older Spanish tradition, the riders at the School also use modern dressage techniques to produce horses that are internationally competitive.

As at the Royal School, Rafael competes on his Andalusian, Invasor. This clinic will include several riders on the Andalusian Horse (the beautiful horse of Spain) as well as many other breeds.
