Morrissey Wins 2002 BET/USA National Junior Jumper Championship

Michael Morrissey, 17, of Bradenton, Florida, and his mount Gera 28 (Holsteiner: Calando I De x Larsa), were victorious in the 2002 BET/USA Individual National Junior Jumper Championships at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show. The Individual Champion was named after completion of three
phases held October 10th through 12th.


USA Equestrian New Rule for Eventing Headgear

Beginning January 1, competitors at all levels of eventing, from beginner novice through advanced, must wear properly fitting protective headgear, passing or surpassing current applicable ASTM / SEI standards with harness secured while jumping any obstacle.

2002 marks the 80th Anniversary of the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair and to celebrate, a Royal tradition was revived with a new twist. Students from the Ontario College of Art & Design (OCAD) competed to design the official poster for the 2002 Royal. The Royal is pleased to announce that third year OCAD student Agnes Wong’s poster design has been chosen to be the Commemorative Poster for the 2002 Royal.

Tom Dvorak, riding Susan Bresler's 11-year-old Bavarian Warmblood Lenz, won the Intermediaire Freestyle at the prestigious Dressage at Devon.

4 Canadian riders achieved top ten placings in the Intermediare I at today's Dressage at Devon CDI. Jacqueline Brooks & Gran Gesto were the highest placing Canadians, scoring 67.667% to put them in 3rd position, less than .3% behind the winner.


Crowds Cheer for Dogs, Cars & Horses at Tournament of Champions

The Grand Prix ring at the Tournament of Champions Saturday was filled with dogs and cars as well as the top show jumping riders from across Canada, the United States, France and South America.
